Hi, I’m Hayley!

Hey there! I’m the designer behind Rare Bird Design Co. I’m not going to age myself too much, so let’s just say I’ve been doing this professionally for over five years now.

During the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the wacky idea to start my own business. I created Rare Bird with a deep desire to build beautiful brand identities and assets for small businesses. Throughout my design career, I’ve worked both within corporate and agency settings, which has allowed me to develop a well-rounded skillset. Through Rare Bird, I gave myself an outlet to combine strategy and creativity in a way that can empower clients and help connect with their customers and community in a memorable and meaningful way.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me drinking tea (preferably a chai latte), reading, going to concerts, thrift shopping, and baking for the people I love. On weekends, you’ll find me watching scary movies or eating a pastry…or both at the same time on a really good day (!!!).

Values

Educate Along the Way

I don’t want to simply throw designs at you. I want to clarify the “why”; the strategy and thought processes behind the creative choices. This will help you connect the visuals to your brand in a way that you stand behind and make clear to your customers.

Create to Last

Longevity is in the forefront of my mind in every project I work on. We’re not just building your brand for today, we’re building it to last and remain relevant to you and your customers for a long time to come.

All are Welcome

No business is too big or too small. All community members are welcome here. Everyone deserves to have their business look the best it possibly can.

What I’ll need from you:

Trust

There’s no need for you to fret about all the details while we work together! As the designer, I am here to take care of your needs, do the creative work, and ensure you end up with beautiful, high-quality designs that will not only look great, but serve a purpose.

Clear Communication

Stating all expectations and deadlines at the beginning of the design process helps everything go so much smoother!
Clear, concise, and timely feedback is also helpful and will prevent any unnecessary delays.

Enthusiasm

The design process is so fun! If we both have excitement and passion for what’s being created, the process will be even more enjoyable.
